Role Overview
* Drive new business growth, develop strategic partnerships, and build lasting client relationships within the IT services and digital transformation sector.
* Report to the Managing Director and collaborate with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Delivery teams.
* Create and support a unified customer journey from lead generation through to long-term client advocacy.
* Combine consultative selling with data-driven insight to deliver sustainable revenue growth and strengthen the company’s market position.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth and Market Development
* Develop and execute business development strategies to acquire new clients and expand market share.
* Identify, qualify, and engage prospective clients aligned with the company’s ideal customer profile.
* Conduct market research to uncover trends, competitor activity, and emerging client needs.
* Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities through networking, referrals, and partnerships.
Consultative Selling and Solution Design
* Lead the full sales cycle-outreach, discovery, proposal, negotiation, and close using a consultative, value-driven approach.
* Translate client challenges into tailored digital transformation solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
* Educate prospects on the business value of modern IT solutions in an advisory, non-pushy manner.
Collaboration and Customer Journey Alignment
* Work closely with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to ensure seamless handovers between awareness, sales, onboarding, and retention stages.
* Maintain shared CRM records with accurate notes, activities, and lifecycle stages.
* Participate in cross-functional meetings to align business development with marketing campaigns and client experience objectives.
Partnerships and Ecosystem Growth
* Identify and develop strategic partnerships with technology vendors and complementary organisations.
* Negotiate and formalise partnership agreements that expand service offerings and deliver mutual value.
* Support joint go-to-market activities, co-promotion, and co-delivery opportunities.
Pipeline Management and Reporting
* Maintain accurate CRM data and manage opportunities through defined lifecycle stages.
* Monitor and report on KPIs such as lead conversion rates, client acquisition costs, and revenue growth.
* Provide regular performance insights to senior management to inform strategic planning.
Person Specification
* Proven success in a senior business development or sales role within professional services or technology business.
* Strong understanding of Microsoft Cloud, Managed IT Services, and digital transformation solutions.
* Experience using CRM platforms and data-driven reporting dashboards.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
* Commercially astute with the ability to structure and close complex deals.
* Self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Strong organisational skills and disciplined pipeline management.
