We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.About your role:We're creating a new Finance Energy Projects Manager role within the Finance Systems team to lead the delivery, automation and evolution of finance data, products and reporting across BG Energy. This is a high-impact position with real influence: you'll shape a newly created role, work closely with senior stakeholders, and drive major finance transformation initiatives.You'll operate with significant autonomy, owning complex finance systems projects end to end and acting as a senior delivery lead and product owner for finance data and insight.
Working across Finance, Operations, DTS and external partners, you'll design solutions that protect financial integrity, support accurate billing and improve customer outcomes. This role suits someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, makes sound judgement calls, and blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll join a skilled, supportive team and play a meaningful part in improving the experience we deliver to customers.Responsibilities of the role:Finance Systems Product Ownership Own finance systems data models, reporting products and improvement roadmapsIdentify opportunities to enhance data quality, controls, automation and insightPartner with Finance, Operations, DTS and suppliers to shape requirements, define outcomes and design tactical/strategic solutionsTranslate business needs into clear, prioritised backlog itemsBalance risk, regulatory needs and business value when sequencing workValidate data outputs, including testing, reconciliations and financial controlsEnsure finance data and insights are presented clearly for non-finance audiencesProject & Complex Change Delivery Lead multiple finance systems initiatives, managing scope, dependencies and risksBreak down complex problems into structured delivery plansProvide direction to engineers and analysts on outcomes, timelines and qualityManage delivery across internal teams and suppliers, holding contributors to accountTrack progress, resolve issues and provide concise updates to senior stakeholdersEnsure solutions are embedded effectively and benefits realisedData, Systems & Technical Contribution Work confidently across data and systems, understanding structures, flows and opportunitiesUse coding skills to interrogate datasets, investigate anomalies and validate financial outcomesAssess data reliability, controls and financial integrity risksChampion strong data quality, documentation and governance practicesStakeholder Leadership Build trusted relationships with senior finance and operational stakeholdersAct as the accountable owner for assigned initiativesTranslate between finance, technology and operational perspectivesInfluence through analysis, clarity and communicationFoster collaborative working across finance systems and wider teamsHere's what we're looking for:Essential Significant experience working in or alongside finance teams and finance systemsExperience with complex, high-volume billing systemsProven track record delivering complex projects or change in regulated or large-scale environmentsStrong understanding of data, reporting, analytics and financial controlsCoding proficiency (e.g.
