We're recruiting for a 1:1 Tutor to work within a caring, specialist secondary SEMH setting that prioritises respect, integrity, compassion, honesty, and trust. The commitment is to create a truly personalised curriculum within a therapeutic environmen -where every student gets the attention they need to engage, learn, and grow.
What you'll be doing:
1. Building one-to-one relationships with students who struggle to stay in mainstream class
2. Delivering bespoke learning sessions that reconnect pupils with English, maths, and wider curriculum goals
3. Applying trauma-informed practices and the Thrive Approach to help young people manage emotions and re-engage with learning
4. Collaborating closely with the SENDCo, therapists, and pastoral team to track progress and adapt plans termly
5. Celebrating every breakthrough-however small-to build confidence and resilience
Who we're looking for:
6. Someone with experience supporting pupils with SEMH or SEND, particularly those disengaged from learning
7. A tutor who practices kind consistency, calm under pressure, and connects with young people who've been let down by school
8. Familiarity-or willingness to learn-the Thrive Approach and therapeutic strategies
9. A believer that every learner deserves a tailored chance to succeed
