The Role
:
As a Project Engineer, you’ll lead the full lifecycle of technically complex manufacturing projects, from customer interface through to route creation, material definition, supplier liaison, and delivery oversight.
You’ll be the customer’s primary technical contact, ensuring all work is delivered right first time, on time, and within budget.
This isn’t a design role, instead, it’s about applying practical engineering knowledge to manage the delivery of bespoke, fabricated components in a regulated environment.
Your day-to-day will include:
1. Conducting internal and external project reviews
2. Creating manufacturing route cards and defining materials/subcontractor needs
3. Liaising with customers through weekly meetings and delivery updates
4. Interpreting complex engineering drawings and defining fabrication methods
5. Reviewing and approving supplier documentation and certifications
6. Supporting procurement and ensuring compliance with industry standards
7. Contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
The Candidate:
This is an excellent role for a Project Engineer looking to work on high-value, low-volume defence manufacturing projects.
You’ll need a background in fabrication and welding, along with a clear understanding of regulated manufacturing environments (nuclear, defence, aerospace, etc.). You’ll be proactive, detail-focused, and confident working independently on technically demanding projects.
We’re looking for someone with:
8. HNC or higher in an engineering discipline
9. Project Engineering experience in a fabrication or machining environments
10. Strong understanding of fabrication processes and route card creation
11. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
12. Confident customer-facing communication skills
13. Familiarity with high-integrity materials and certification standards
