1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full / Part Time (Term-Time Only)

Rate of pay: Competitive depending on experience

The role
As the 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will:
* Provide dedicated support to a named pupil (or pupils) with additional educational needs (SEND) to enable them to access the curriculum, make progress and feel part of the class.
* Work under the direction of the class teacher and/or SENDCo to implement personalised support plans, adapt resources and monitor outcomes.
* Support small group or individual interventions as required.
* Foster positive behaviour, independence and self-esteem in the pupil(s) you support.
* Liaise with colleagues, parents/carers and external agencies as necessary to ensure consistent support.
* Assist with routine classroom tasks, helping maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
You should:
* Have previous experience working with children, ideally in a school setting and preferably supporting SEND pupils.
* Be patient, resilient, flexible and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
* Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
* Be able to follow instructions from the class teacher and adapt quickly to changing needs and priorities.
* Hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2/Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (and able to undergo an enhanced DBS check).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
