The opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Data Governance Manager, the Data Governance Analyst will be instrumental in optimising the value of our data. You will be part of a close-knit team, assisting in integrating all aspects of the Data Governance Framework. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that the Openwork Group can leverage top-notch and reliable data for evaluating performance, gaining insights, and making informed decisions.

Hybrid role, based 2-3 days a week in our Swindon office.

What you'll be doing:
* Help to build out the data governance capability across the organisation, iterating the governance framework.
* Build data structures (reports and dashboards) that support stakeholders in improving their access to data.
* Support the embedding of the data governance framework, including policies, standards, and controls.
* Work with the business to produce data standards and data quality rules for critical data.
* Prepare administrative materials for Data Governance Council, Operational Forums, and other governance mechanisms (agendas, slides, minutes, action & decision logs).
* Chair the Operational Forums, ensuring they deliver meaningful value for the Governance office and stakeholders.
* Assess and improve the quality of data used within Openwork.
* Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations in line with broader business requirements.
* Provide training to data owners and stewards on tools to access, understand, and interpret datasets and reports.
* Build effective relationships across the Partnership.
* Support building the Openwork data community to ensure best practices across the Partnership.
* Help the business become more data mature.
What will you need to succeed?
* Understanding of data governance frameworks
* Experience working within a highly regulated sector
* Experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role
* Knowledge of data management principles, tools, and technologies
* Experience using data quality measurement tools as part of a governance program
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI (or similar visualization tools)
* Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR
* Numerate and investigative skills to get to the root of problems
* Skills in problem analysis, evaluation of options, and decision-making
* Judgment to balance time and accuracy
* Strong stakeholder management skills
