Position: Speciality Physiotherapist – Rotational (Band 6) based at University Hospital Ayr and Biggart Hospital. This is a permanent post offered on a full‑time basis.
Hours: 36 hours per week, with an on‑call commitment. Part‑time and job share hours may be considered.
Driving licence: A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
You will perform a rotational Band 6 Physiotherapy service within South Ayrshire, rotating through five teams: Unscheduled Care, Acute Frailty, Elective Orthopaedic Inpatients, Vascular Outreach Rehabilitation, and Older Adults Inpatient & Community Rehabilitation — with the possibility of additional rotations in the future. Responsibilities include delivering highly skilled physiotherapy, acting as a senior clinical decision maker, leading complex care and discharge planning, and delivering rehabilitation to ensure patients are optimally rehabilitated and discharged efficiently. You will work with community and lone work as required, make onward referrals to other services, and support the development of less experienced, unregistered staff and students.
Qualifications
* Current HCPC registration
* Variety of experience across physiotherapy rotations or roles relevant to a senior rotational physiotherapist
* Interest and experience in community rehabilitation, falls and frailty
* Undertaken training and clinical improvement relevant to the role
* Experience of supporting other team members
