Lean Engineer – Flexible Pipe Systems Offshore – Newcastle, UK
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Lean Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing principles and practices, with a focus on continuous improvement, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough assessments of current processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and areas for improvement.
* Implement and promote lean tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM, and Root Cause Analysis.
* Oversee and coach Daily Lean Management routine across different functions.
* Develop and improve tracking tools, dashboards, and templates to support Operational Excellence.
* Educate and train employees on lean principles and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
* Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering, to drive operational excellence and enhance overall performance.
* Build capability in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of lean initiatives and ensure sustained improvements.
* Utilize data analysis and problem‑solving techniques to address operational challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
* At least 3 years of proven experience in a lean engineering or operational excellence role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong understanding of lean principles, methodologies, and tools.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data‑driven decisions.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with lean software tools such as Minitab, Tableau, and PowerBI.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
