As a Generic Housing Officer, you'll be at the frontline of housing management services in a designated geographical area. You'll support tenants with complex needs, enforce tenancy conditions, coordinate multi-agency efforts, and contribute to community wellbeing - all while helping the council achieve key performance targets.
What You'll Be Doing:
Delivering high-quality housing services and ensuring policy compliance
Managing tenancies, supporting sustainable communities, and maximising council income
Acting as a key point of contact for tenants, families, and partner agencies
Supporting vulnerable tenants, including those transitioning from care or institutions
Handling rent arrears, ASB cases, and tenancy-related complaints
Ensuring repairs and estate issues are addressed effectively
What We're Looking For:
CIH Level 4 or equivalent and hands-on experience in housing management
Shelter Home Point Level 2 qualification
Deep understanding of housing legislation and tenant support mechanisms
Excellent communication, case management, and problem-solving skills
IT proficiency and ability to work under pressure
