We are recruiting on behalf of a respected Central London-based not-for-profit organisation for an experienced Governance Manager to join their Chief Executive’s Office.
This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering a high-quality, compliant and professional governance service across the organisation. The postholder will work closely with senior leaders, Trustees, Council members and the Executive Team to ensure statutory and regulatory duties are met and governance best practice is embedded across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support governance activity for the Board of Trustees, Council and Committees
* Oversee agenda planning, paper production, minute-taking and action tracking
* Support elections, general meetings (AGM/EGM) and ceremonial occasions
* Manage registers of interests and ensure regulatory compliance
* Contribute to governance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support induction, appraisal and training of Trustees and Council members
* Ensure documentation, procedures and governance frameworks remain up to date
About You We are looking for an experienced governance professional who:
* Is currently working in a Governance Manager role within a similar environment (Higher Education, Healthcare, Charity or membership organisation)
* Is fully or part qualified with the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), or has equivalent experience
* Has significant experience servicing senior Boards and Committees
* Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Is confident operating autonomously while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
* Has a strong understanding of charity governance and regulatory best practice
* Experience managing elections and working within membership or non-mainstream organisations is desirable.
