Manufacturing Engineer Salary £30,000 - £36,000 per annum very dependent on experience plus benefits. Global Manufacturer Ebbw Vale area. Ideally, you will have circa 3 years work experience gained within the automotive,aerospace or similar Industry. Engineering experience gained within the automotive,aerospace or similar Industry would be beneficialand a knowledge of automotive style process control systems would be advantageous. You must have the legal right to work Permanently in the U.K without company sponsorship You will be Degree/HNC qualified or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering You must have several years experience of working in manufacturing/engineering This is not a senior role This is a Days role, Monday to Fridays with early finish Friday afternoon. Some of the key areas of responsibility will include: - Assist Manufacturing in identification of machines & equipment used within process - a knowledge of Robots (Fanuc) would be advantageous. Liaison with machine manufacturers and installers Obtaining quotes, selection, justification and ROI calculation. Assist Operations with design of production lines both flow & Cellular Build. Project planning, estimating & implementation working with team orientated structure. Implement & deliver project timing plans/ Capital Expenditure activities. Manage and resolve technical issues. Liaise with all departments (i.e. production planning & sales). Design & sub contract tools & fixtures, liaising with tooling manufacturers on design, manufacture & pricing. Assist in driving the organisations lean manufacturing program (Familiarity with lean techniques such as - 5-S, Kanban, Keisen & Poke Yoke). Undertake Process FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis). Create Manufacturing Process files for new products & update existing files. Files detail information such as process flow charts, process plans, work instructions & process control documentation. Successfully implement and project manage or work as part of project team on activities such as New Product Introduction, Cost reduction or Process Improvement. Understand the concept of standard minute values, line balancing & capacity planning. Method study: -analyse and suggest best practise. When allocated to work alongside New Product introduction team during product introduction (NPI) analysing times and method before commencing production. Monitor machine performance/breakdowns & provide engineering & process improvements. Provide support in the installation, validation of new equipment & processes. Providing technical support to the production facility developing & improving current manufacturing processes. Demonstrate an ability to take initiative and assume accountability. Personal Abilities/Requirements: Manufacturing Engineer you will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, and various engineering software. Experience with Robots (Fanuc) would be advantageous. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think on your feet. Project Management skills and Ability to time line NPI introductions. Proficient Technical background experience with the Comprehensive understanding of engineering change release/BOM’s/manufacturing process. Excellent co-ordinator, assertive, forward thinking & organised with a pragmatic approach to problem solving, setting priorities to meet given project deadlines & possess people management competencies. Qualifications & requirements: Graduate/ HNC in Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering Experience & knowledge of Automotive Industry would be advantageous. 3 years minimum experience of working in Manufacturring or Engineering industry Travel to work from; Cardiff, Newport, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Merthyr, Ebbw Vale, Cwmbran, Neath, Abergavenny
