Chiltern Railways Ltd operates commuter and regional rail passenger services from its central London terminus at Marylebone, along the M40 corridor to destinations in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, and offers long-distance services to the West Midlands along two routes.

We are seeking a dedicated Revenue Officer to ensure passengers possess valid tickets, reduce ticketless travel, and uphold high standards of customer service.

Main responsibilities include:

1. Leading a team of Revenue Protection Officers to minimize fare evasion.
2. Handling daily scheduling and operational duties.
3. Managing HR issues and acting as the initial investigator.
4. Maintaining a professional demeanor consistently.
5. Collaborating with agencies such as other TOC staff, Security Officers, and British Transport Police during revenue operations.
6. Verifying passengers' tickets upon boarding and disembarking.
7. Collecting used tickets and facilitating ticket sales when trained.
8. Issuing Penalty Fare notices and completing documentation like MG11 statements and Travel Incident Reports.
9. Assisting passengers with inquiries and providing train information.
10. Representing Carlisle Support Services and our client with excellent customer service.
11. Attending court as a professional witness if required.
12. Delivering outstanding customer service, especially to vulnerable passengers, with empathy.
13. Safeguarding vulnerable passengers according to guidelines.
14. Communicating effectively for passenger interactions and incident reporting.
15. Managing conflicts and diffusing situations appropriately.
16. Prioritizing safety, identifying concerns, and ensuring safe working practices.
17. Maintaining confidentiality of all information related to duty performance.
18. Adhering to accident and incident reporting procedures.
19. Fulfilling additional duties as reasonably expected by management or clients.

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Training:

1. Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
2. Proficiency in IT, including software for penalty issuance and report creation.
3. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
4. Ability to work independently and responsibly.
5. Following procedures in verbal, written, and online forms.
6. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
7. Flexible in working hours.

Safety Responsibilities:

1. Adherence to Transport & Works Act (Alcohol and Drugs) requirements.
2. Regular safety and security checks.
3. Compliance with emergency plans and procedures.
4. Taking reasonable care of personal and others' safety.
5. Reporting to work under influence policies.
6. Wearing uniform and PPE during duty.

You must also be:

* A resident in the UK for at least 3 years.
* Eligible to work full-time in the UK without restrictions.
