Strategic Lead Mental Health, Trafford Council
Pay rate – £500 - £600 per day

Vitalis are recruiting for an experienced Strategic Lead Mental Health to work in Trafford Council.
Role Overview
Trafford council is currently engaged in negotiating an end to the formal S75 agreement with Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH), who currently deliver the statutory functions of the Care Act on our behalf and bringing Adult Social Care staff back within the formal management of the council. We require a highly experienced interim senior Mental Health professional, with experience of managing Mental Health and S75 arrangements.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
* A Qualified and experienced social work practitioner with at least HoS experience.
* Strong MH experience- full understanding of S117/ CHC and not afraid to challenge NHS/ICB when appropriate to do so.
* MUST have S75 experience- experience of ending such arrangements would be an advantage.
* Project management- will need to plan and deliver MH social work back to Local Authority management structures and formal management arrangements.
* Strong understanding of QA and good practice- will need to produce robust position statement and prepare action plan.
* Will need to chair Ops MH S75 working group and report to programme board.
* Report to Director of ASC, who is SRO.
* Additionally, will provide ops cover for MH Strategic lead (currently absent) and managing MH service manager. This aspect of the role is likely to be short term.
* Understanding of complex casework.
* Strong understanding of budget management.
