Job Title: Inventory Planner
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base, Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Delivering outputs, KPIs, and effective Point of Use capability in line with integrated schedules and departmental procedures
* Managing consumable stock across all stores and lineside requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels
* Reviewing processes and compliance regularly to drive continuous improvement
* Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities, risks, and mitigation plans as needed
* Acting as the primary contact for escalations and internal customer concerns
* Ensuring adherence to Export Control, COSHH, and SHE requirements through understanding and compliance
* Supporting additional business requirements beyond these defined responsibilities as necessary
Your skills and experiences:
* Experience in a Logistics or Supply Chain department
* Strong working knowledge of inventory management
* Experience and knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions)
* Proven experience in Supplier Management and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
* Familiarity with SAP or similar systems
* Understanding of purchase-to-pay processes
