New-Born Hearing Screener and Admin Assistant
Join Buy A Boat Now to apply for the New-Born Hearing Screener and Admin Assistant role. This is a fixed‑term (12 months) position, 12 hrs per week (2 weekdays). The post is for experienced registered professionals (e.g., Nurse, Health Visitor, Audiologist) or qualified hearing screener looking for additional working hours.
Key responsibilities
* Screen newborn babies for hearing within their first weeks of life using automated screening equipment (AABR, AOAE); conduct screening in home, clinic, and SCBU settings.
* Contact parents face‑to‑face and by telephone; arrange referrals and appointments; record screening data in national and local systems.
* Provide administrative support: type correspondence in Infoflex; manage phone calls; file records; support Audiology Coordinators and Senior Assistant Audiologists.
* Work closely with Health Visitors, Midwives, and other NHS staff; attend meetings and audits.
* Maintain and calibrate screening equipment; report faults; manage consumables.
* Support training and supervision of Health Visitors and other professionals involved in screening.
Qualifications & requirements
* Registered professional (Nurse, Health Visitor, Audiologist) or previously qualified hearing screener.
* Experience with newborn hearing screening and use of automated equipment.
* Strong communication skills, ability to liaise with parents and NHS teams.
* Proficiency in use of Infoflex, Auditbase, IHCS, Smart for Hearing, and basic IT.
* Ability to record data accurately and manage confidential patient information.
