The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading, well-established FMCG business based in Grimsby, known for its strong market presence, continuous investment, and commitment to operational excellence. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a commercially minded Cost Accountant to join their high-performing finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional looking to play a key role in driving cost efficiency, supporting decision-making, and influencing operational performance within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse, and report on product and operational costs across the business
• Prepare accurate cost models, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Work closely with production and operations teams to improve cost control and efficiency
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders
• Maintain and improve costing systems and processes
• Support month-end reporting, including inventory valuations and reconciliations

About You

• Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (CIMA/ACCA/ACA desirable)
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is essential
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
