About the Opportunity
We are recruiting Safety Case Engineers at all levels—from entry to principal—to join our Safety Case team within our decommissioning and radioactive waste management sector. The roles can be based in Harwell, London, Warrington, Scrabster, Westlakes, and other locations.
This multidisciplinary team delivers a variety of projects for UK and international clients, including consultancy, engineering, and challenging EPC projects in civil nuclear and defense industries. Overseas, we serve clients in the Nordics, Central and Eastern Europe, and Japan.
The primary focus of our Safety Case Team is providing safety analysis and support for waste management and decommissioning projects, assisting licensees, future licensees, waste management organizations, and regulators.
Opportunities also exist to support clients across the Nuclear Lifecycle, including licensees, reactor designers, vendors, site operators, industry bodies, regulators, and research institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Safety Case Engineer, you will implement Safety Case Procedures and maintain technical quality standards. Your responsibilities include providing Nuclear Safety Case support throughout the full lifecycle, such as:
* Participating in hazard identification studies (e.g., HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SWIFTs)
* Supporting the preparation of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments (e.g., FTAs, FMEA, ETA, QRA)
* Preparing safety case documentation and reports
* Developing safety case strategy reports
* Creating technical reports
Qualifications:
* Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent
* Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical information
* Experience in preparing technical reports
* Proactive with professional leadership qualities and a technical background
* Good engineering judgment, recognizing limitations of knowledge
Preferred additional skills include:
* Understanding of Safety Assessment Principles and their application to safety case preparation
* Experience with safety case documentation in the nuclear or highly regulated industries
* Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders
* For senior roles, successful delivery of safety cases on complex projects and mentoring junior staff
