SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Behaviour & Emotional Support – Year 5) About the Role Teach Now is seeking a strong, nurturing and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD and a significant trauma background. This is a vital role for a caring, emotionally intelligent practitioner who believes in the power of stability, trust and consistency for vulnerable learners. You will play a central part in helping this pupil feel safe, understood and capable of success—emotionally, socially and academically. About the Pupil • Bright, caring and sensitive • Experiences frustration when tasks become challenging • Can become overwhelmed quickly and is highly attuned to fairness • Strong focus on friendships and social dynamics • May occasionally attempt to leave the classroom when dysregulated This role requires someone who can offer balance: encouragement with boundaries, calmness with confidence, and structure with empathy.
