Clinical Psychologist / Neuropsychologist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the multidisciplinary teams of the Stroke team and the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus team at Nottingham University Hospitals, one of the leading establishments in Stroke and NPH nationally.
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist to provide specialist assessment and intervention for adults with Stroke or NPH who are under the care of NUH. Candidates will ideally have experience of psychological assessment and care in neurological pathways, working with patients with cognitive, language, and physical disabilities. Specialist neuropsychology expertise is highly desirable but not essential. The position is well supported and would access clinical supervision and support from within the Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at NUH. The post holder will also contribute to departmental activities, including research and clinical governance.
The post will be based at the Queen’s Medical Centre site of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Candidates must be registered with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist.
Qualifications required include advanced theoretical and practical knowledge acquired through a degree, postgraduate doctoral degree (or equivalent), and postdoctoral specialist training to provide a high-quality specialist Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology service to the Stroke and NPH services at NUH.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Participating in multidisciplinary case assessment, discussion, and formulation.
2. Conducting highly specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments and rehabilitation.
3. Analyzing complex referrals and providing expert opinions.
4. Advising the NPH team, including Consultant Neurosurgeons, on neuropsychological assessment outcomes related to NPH patients pre- and post-surgery.
5. Providing comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, consultations, and rehabilitation services to adults.
6. Responsible for the direct care and rehabilitation of adults using appropriate psychological skills.
7. Delivering pre- and post-surgery neuropsychological assessments and communicating findings to the surgical team.
