What sets this role apart
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Beaconsfield team and take ownership of the commercial management of our high-end residential developments. You will lead the procurement and management of subcontractor packages, oversee budgets, and ensure costs are effectively controlled throughout the build programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Procuring and placing subcontractor packages in line with the build programme
* Preparing detailed subcontract enquiries, scopes of work and contract documentation
* Analysing returns, negotiating terms, and making clear, commercially robust recommendations
* Managing subcontractor payments, variations and contra charges
* Ensuring contracts are placed on agreed terms and conditions
* Attending site meetings and working collaboratively with delivery teams
* Reviewing drawings to ensure proposals are practical, cost-effective and commercially viable
* Providing cost advice to support sales and wider business decisions
* Producing regular cost reports and full development cost reports
About you
We are looking for someone with:
* Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a housebuilder environment
* Excellent commercial awareness and numerical ability
* A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Strong communication skills
* Good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a busy environment
