We are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to join our East West Rail Surveys team, based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. This is a key role within the East West Rail Surveys programme with responsibility for leading the day‑to‑day delivery of complex, multi‑disciplinary survey and technical activities across the route. Reporting to the Project Director, you will provide strong operational leadership to Project Managers and discipline leads, driving safe, efficient delivery and translating strategic programme objectives into clearly defined, deliverable work plans.
Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required. Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Responsibilities
* Leading the day‑to‑day delivery of survey workstreams from mobilisation through completion, maintaining contract programmes and ensuring cross‑discipline coordination
* Translating project strategy into clear, coordinated delivery plans and acting as the primary escalation point for delivery risks and interface issues
* Providing direct line management and leadership to Project Managers and workstream leads, fostering a One Team culture across disciplines and suppliers
* Working closely with Planning and Project Controls to maintain accurate, integrated programmes that account for land access, ecology and stakeholder constraints
* Leading by example in promoting a strong safety and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with Kier SHEQ policies and CDM regulations
Qualifications
* A degree, or equivalent practical experience, in an engineering, construction, or project management discipline
* Proven experience delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects within regulated environments and strong SHEQ frameworks
* A solid understanding of programme management, delivery sequencing, and interface coordination
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to lead delivery teams and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
* In‑depth knowledge of construction methodologies, risk management, and programme control on major infrastructure schemes
