What are the key objectives?
1. Ensure our on-prem infrastructure and AWS cloud estate are ready and available to support our teams, digital services, and customers at all times
2. Provision environments and services that are used by our customers as well as our development, engineering, and test teams
3. Assist in deploying product updates, locating production errors, and building integrations that improve users’ experience
4. Create, manage, and maintain the Infrastructure as Code for the project, deploy and update docker stacks to a docker swarm, ensuring lab configurations as well as involvement in updating, rolling back the product version etc. This work is approximately 80% on-prem and 20% cloud based
Requirements
Technically, we are looking for demonstrated experience of:
* Environment/Infrastructure Management, including provisioning and support for hardware, software, data, and network. To include; Operating System and Software Installation, Control Set-up / Adjustment, Data storage, Hosting, Back-up, and Recovery.
* Virtual Machines, Containers, Docker & Docker Swarm, and Ansible; AWS core services: VPC, Subnets, AMIs, ALBs, ECR, CloudFormation, Terraform, Packer Configuration and management of networking equipment.
* Experience of DNS, subnets, routing, firewalls (physical & software) concepts Systems Administration Support, Security; User management; Upgrades/Patching; Scripting / Process Automation e.g. Ansible; Monitoring and System Analytics. Perform tasks by running commands, handling processes, files, and directories, back up and restoring the system and managing logical storage. Providing appropriate security and user administration; includes managing the security profile.
* Experience working from the Linux terminal, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems (Debian, Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS). Running and writing BASH & Python scripts for process automation.
* Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Tracking and controlling changes by identifying configurations and baselines, reporting status of the configuration, and managing the build and environments. Proficient in use of version control (Git / GitHub) to make changes to existing and write new scripts in on-premises and private DC hosting environments. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot pipelines.
