The International Centre for Life is a thriving science hub in the heart of Newcastle. Its purpose is to inspire everyone to explore and enjoy science and to provide a world class science hub where life enhancing engagement, research and clinical treatment can thrive. Life is home to NHS clinics as well as scientists and researchers from Newcastle University. Life Science Centre is at the heart of this ‘circle of science’ and aspires to be most accessible and inclusive visitor attraction in the UK. It has an international reputation for its work in sensory engagement.
Responsibilities
 * You will be a dynamic and enthusiastic duty manager joining our Visitor Experience Team.
 * You will lead on the delivery of excellent customer service and manage the operational aspects of the visitor experience.
 * You will take charge of the daily running of the centre, including opening, closing and ensuring activities run smoothly.
 * You will handle visitor queries professionally and support and motivate the team to ensure visitors have a positive and memorable experience.
Shift and Working Arrangements
Hours: Part time (30 hours per week on rota across Monday to Sunday). The science centre is open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. A flexible approach and the ability to work to a rota system is essential. Ideally, you will also have flexibility to work additional hours at peak times as needed.
