Sidmouth International School (SIS), in partnership with Sidmouth Town Council, is seeking a friendly, reliable, and youth-focused Activity Leader to support Youth & Sidmouth () - a local evening youth club for young people aged 11–17.
You will be employed by SIS, with your role focused on delivering the Town Council's youth provision, primarily hosted on SIS' premises.
This is a casual, zero-hour role - ideal for someone seeking occasional evening work.
There is potential for additional summer work with SIS in 2026.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Supervise and engage with young people (ages 11–17) during evening youth club sessions
* Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment
* Support activities, sign-in/out, and refreshments
* Encourage positive behaviour and build rapport with young people
* Liaise with SIS and Town Council staff as needed
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Experience working with young people (youth work, coaching, education, etc.)
* Responsible, approachable, and confident working independently
* Good communication and behaviour management skills
* Full UK driving licence and reliable transport
* Passion for supporting youth development and wellbeing
Desirable:
* Youth work or safeguarding training
* First Aid qualification
* Knowledge of Sidmouth area
Contract & Pay:
* Zero-hour contract with no guaranteed shifts
* Evening sessions usually twice per week (5:00–7:00pm)
* Paid per session (rate confirmed at interview)
* Optional summer work at SIS (potential but not guaranteed)
