Join Alcedo Care as a Complex Mental Health Care Assistant in Heysham.
Pay: £18.00 – £18.50 per hour, which equates to £20.78 – £21.35 per hour when including pension and holiday pay. We are offering a free DBS check and immediate interviews are available.
Guaranteed income: Full‑time minimum contracted hours (24 or 36 hours per week).
Shift pattern: 12‑hour day or waking‑night shifts (08:00‑20:00 or 20:00‑08:00) on a rota basis.
Female‑only role: This position is subject to a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 and therefore we consider only female applicants for this role.
Applicants will be required to support a female client, provide transport where needed, and work in situations that involve privacy, dignity and safeguarding considerations. Maintaining a professional appearance in line with individual client needs is essential, including coverage of visible tattoos when required for client safety and comfort.
These requirements relate solely to the nature of the role and the needs of the individuals supported. All other aspects of recruitment will be assessed fairly and on merit.

Qualifications
* Training in mental health support and crisis intervention (preferred)
Experience
* Proven experience working in mental health settings
* Familiarity with various complex mental health conditions, including dissociative identity disorder
* Experience following care plans
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively
* Proficient in using active listening skills to understand client’s needs and concerns
* Strong skills in de‑escalation techniques and crisis management
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
