Job Overview:
As a Fostering Youth Worker, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality support services. You'll be instrumental in assisting children in care and foster families, offering practical help, guidance, and emotional support. This role is pivotal in enhancing the well-being and development of children and young people. This role is based in East London.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess and address the needs of fostered children and their families.
* Offer crisis support and advice to foster families.
* Advocate for fostered children, ensuring their wishes and feelings are represented.
* Provide counselling and mentoring services.
* Supervise youth mentors and coordinate various support events.
* Work collaboratively with social workers and other professionals to support foster placements.
* Assist in the recruitment and training of foster carers.
* Maintain case records and participate in agency quality assurance systems.
* Stay informed about relevant legislation and policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience in child welfare, social work, or related field.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written- Fluent in (spoken and written) at least two main south Asian languages as well as English.
* Experience in a similar role, particularly in a fostering or childcare setting.
* Strong mentoring skills to provide guidance and support to youth
* Ability to educate and engage youth in various subjects and activities
* Able to work flexible hours as required, including weekends.

Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year

* Brentford TW8 9DW: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
