We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Safe Dig and ZOI Control Manager (Maternity Cover) to join the people team at our Head Office in Knowsley, Liverpool.

As a Safe Dig and ZOI Control Manager you will play a vital role in the smooth running of the team. This will include ensuring all team members are fully trained and competent in their role, ensuring MJ Quinn’s HPP Policy is adhered to & highlighting any potential issues if they arise. The successful candidate will also ensure the workload is managed appropriately and any concerns are raised to the Noticing and Safe Dig Manager.
The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
* Ensure all Safe Dig Administrators, ZOI Controllers & the HPP Compliance Trainer: –
* Are aware and fully trained to do their work, including the “Hot Job” process,
* Receive full awareness briefing of HPP Policy document and are competent in the processes.
* follow process and respond to escalations regarding the status of the hot Job, within a timely manner.
* are supported in their work.
* Report any known potential breaches in the Hot Job process by the planning teams to the Safe Dig and Noticing Manager.
* Producing timelines for investigations into HPP Breaches and attending meetings to discuss actions for prevention going forward.
* Report all known Hazardous Pipeline Infringements to the MJ Quinn HSQE Team.
* Manage and update the non LSBUD member tracker. Distributing to the team when needed.
* Complete BAPA assessments and interface with Rail asset owners. This includes completing enquiry documents and sending the documentation to the Rail asset owners as part of the BAPA process.
* Producing weekly performance statistics.
* Attend Operational Safe Dig and Hot Job tasks impact meetings with the Senior Project Managers.
* Conduct weekly audits and ensure workload fluctuations, including excessive levels, are managed effectively across the whole team, recording results on the system.
* Ensure all relevant queues are managed effectively, calling out any concerns.
* Relationship management within the business to set expectations whilst working with Operations to deliver their needs.
* Conduct monthly face to face audits with each team member, recording results on the system.
* Produce task specific briefs with assessments for both continuous learning and for any team members requiring personal development, depending upon audit results.
* Update team training modules in line with any new processes.
* Chair Monthly staff meetings to discuss any updates/issues.
* Manage staff in line with MJ Quinn HR Policies including sickness, annual leave, and interview process.
* Liaise with OR HSQE team to provide further information on MJ Quinn’s HPP Policy including preparing for and attending annual Partner Audits.
* Complete system cleanses to effectively manage workloads.
Experience and skills:
To be successful in this role the Safe Dig and ZOI Control Manager will need:
Strong understanding of the MJ Quinn Hazardous Pipeline Procedure (HPP).
* Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities, with attention to detail.
* Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability communicate all levels.
* Strong understanding of the MJ Quinn Hazardous Pipeline Procedure (HPP).
* Have a high standard of numeracy.
* Be educated to a G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
* Be computer literate.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
* Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Can prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
* DBS check to be completed prior to start date.
