An opportunity has arisen to join us at a very important time in the development of our manufacturing team. We are looking for an experienced Sewing machinist/Cutter to be a great addition to our Sewing studio. You will be an integral part of a small team, assisting the Manufacturing Manager to develop and continuously improve a safe and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge and experience of working with industrial sewing machines, cutting tools and a variety of fabrics and meshes.
Main Duties
* To sew a variety of textile products including nets, bags and sheets.
* Monitoring the safe condition/operation of the sewing studio equipment and reporting any non-conformance to the Manufacturing Manager.
* Help to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
* Help with the selection and procurement of materials and equipment within the studio.
* Maintain good working knowledge of material characteristics and sewing techniques.
* Monitoring of stock ensuring safe and proper storage and that levels are maintained to minimise disruption to the production schedule.
* Follow all policies and procedures, ensuring records are completed to company standards.
Essential Skills
* Previous experience of working with industrial sewing machines and cutting tools.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* High attention to detail and quality.
* Good communication skills and be able to work well within a small team and on own initiative.
* Excellent organizational skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in pattern making.

This is a permanent position, part time, 22.5 hours per week. Working pattern can be flexible between Mon-Fri, 8am – 5pm.
