Hours 29.6 (0.8 WTE) up to 12 months temporary contract
Reference Dietetic Support Worker – Band 3
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Dietetic Support Worker based within the REAS dietetic team. The post is covering maternity, which will start from January 2025
The post holder will be involved in the review of patients with malnutrition within wards on the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and outlying areas such as Ferryfield, Ellen’s Glenn and Findlay House. The post holder also has the opportunity to be part of a group with other AHPs educating patients on balanced eating.
In addition to seeing patients, the post holder will be required to maintain electronic patient records, data collection and undertake some administration duties to support the team
The dietitians within the team will delegate work and provide training and supervision to the post holder.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. Please note that the pay scale in this advert will not be changing as a result.
