Luminance is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations, initially focussing on payroll and expenses, and also contributing to the growth and efficiency of our finance function. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller and will involve working closely with our finance team and other areas of the business to ensure smooth and accurate financial processes. Responsibilities · Update the banking spreadsheet each morning and send a breakdown to management. · Reconcile customer accounts in our financial system. · Contact customers via phone and email to ensure payments are made within payment terms. · Resolving customer’s account queries in a timely manner. · Keep the finance system up to date with debtors’ notes. · Post all the AR cash and ensure the debtors ledger is tidy. · Work out how to automate as much as possible. · Work with the rest of the finance team on other tasks such as review employee expenses to ensure they are in line with company policy and post these on the accounting system. Serve as a backup for accounts payable, credit card management, and purchase order processes, supporting smooth operations across finance functions. Requirements · Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks. · Proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to take initiative. · Highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple responsibilities and prioritizing tasks effectively. · Availability to work at least 3 days per week in the Cambridge office.
