Key Purpose of Job:
At Roshni, we support Black and Minoritised victims/survivors affected by domestic abuse, including Forced Marriage and Honour Based Abuse. Established in 1979, Roshni Birmingham is a leading provider supporting Black and Minoritised communities through their journey to safety, confidence, and independence to live free from violence, abuse, and fear.
An Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Certificate will be required for the role.
All posts are restricted to women due to the nature of the role, exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, and Part 1, Section 7(2) e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
Senior Support Worker/Team Leader - Job Description:
This role requires an individual who wants to make a difference. The duties include:
* Ensuring high standards of keyworking for service users, including risk assessments, support planning, safety planning, and group work.
* Maintaining a safe, welcoming environment in refuges and ensuring facilities meet HMO standards and health and safety regulations.
* Supporting a small caseload of up to three women and overseeing Support Workers' casework.
* Monitoring implementation of license agreements and service charges.
* Holding case management meetings and allocating referrals.
* Deputising for the Manager when needed, including timely report completion.
* Ensuring service user participation through meetings and community engagement.
* Responding to complaints and issues according to policies and procedures.
* Managing refuge space allocation and maximizing rent/benefits administration.
* Contributing to fundraising applications as needed.
* Developing and implementing quality and performance monitoring systems via audits and analysis.
* Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, e.g., HMO licensing.
* Maintaining relationships with partners through working groups and information sharing.
* Recruiting, inducting, and training staff on policies and domestic abuse issues.
* Overseeing direct casework and advocacy to empower service users to access their rights and options.
* Working occasional evenings/weekends on a rota basis to cover emergencies.
Key Requirements:
* Experience advocating for minority women facing abuse/barriers.
* Understanding of forced marriage, honour-based abuse, and NRPF.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Administrative skills and ability to maintain records.
* Able to influence a range of stakeholders.
* Fluency in English and South Asian languages.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings.
Job Details:
* Type: Full-time
* Pay: £27,000 - £28,000 per year

The post holder will support and supervise staff, carry out case management sensitively, and undertake direct case work including risk and needs assessment, support, and safety planning for women experiencing violence, via face-to-face and telephone contact.
Experience required: Supervising, monitoring case work for domestic abuse victims: 1 year
Language requirement: Ability to speak South Asian Language
