Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Process Design Engineer with expertise in Air Separation Units (ASU) to join our engineering team on an 8-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and optimising air separation processes to support hydrogen production and integration with downstream systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop process design packages for air separation units, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
* Perform process simulations and calculations for cryogenic air separation systems.
* Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, control) to integrate ASU with hydrogen production facilities.
* Support HAZOP reviews, risk assessments, and operability studies.
* Provide technical input during procurement and vendor selection.
* Assist in commissioning and troubleshooting during project execution.
Requirements:
* Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
* Proven experience in air separation process design (cryogenic systems preferred).
* Familiarity with UK/EU engineering standards and safety practices.
* Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines.
