New Directions is collaborating with an welcoming primary school in Ormskirk to fill the role of a supportive teaching assistant. This opportunity arises as the school seeks to maintain its high standards of education and student support.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, and encourage pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
The Role
• Support teaching and learning within the classroom
• Help to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach
• Assist with classroom preparation and educational resources
The Ideal Candidate
• Have experience working with children in a school or educational setting
• Is confident in managing challenging behaviour in a patient and proactive manner
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
