We’re currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in a range of SEN schoolsand alternative provisions across Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, support amazing young people, and work with a team that values your skills and time.
Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD, Challenging Behaviour)
2. Help implement learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
3. Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
4. Create a positive, inclusive environment for learning
5. Assist with personal care tasks where required (depending on setting)
Requirements
6. Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, youth work, care, or similar settings)
7. A calm, patient and nurturing approach
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills
9. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
10. Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
