Role Type: Full/Part Time/Bank Hours : Between 16 & 48 Shift Patterns: 6.30am -2pm 2.30pm-10pm Location : Barnsley This role requires you to be physically present in a specific geographic area due to the nature of the work (e.g. on-call duties, rapid response needs, rota-based care, or services sensitive to travel time). If you currently live 30 minutes outside the area and do not intend to relocate, we must make you aware that this could significantly impact your ability to perform the role safely and reliably for example, reaching service users on time or being available for urgent visits. Key Responsibilities of a Community Care Worker: Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks Building positive relationships with individuals and their families Supporting emotional well-being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home Respecting confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries at all times What You’ll Need A caring, compassionate approach A commitment to putting people first Excellent communication and teamwork skills Experience preferred but not essential – full training provided. Driving licence and own vehicle essential ( We pay 30p per mile fuel allowance) Weekend availability (alternative weekends or 1 day per weekend).
