We’re now looking for passionate, skilled chefs to join us on a flexible working pattern with banked hours, supporting our weddings, events, and hospitality offer. This is a fantastic opportunity for chefs seeking varied work with fair, transparent hours and consistent pay.
🔁 Flexible & Banked Hours – How It Works
* Hours are flexible and planned around business needs
* During busy periods (events, weddings, peak seasons), you may work additional hours
* Any extra hours worked are banked
* Banked hours are taken back as paid time off during quieter periods
* All hours are recorded, tracked, and agreed in advance
* No unpaid overtime

🍽️ About the Role
You’ll be a key part of delivering a diverse, high-quality food operation across the site, including:
* A welcoming Farmshop showcasing local produce and artisan goods
* A stylish Barista Coffee Bar
* Family-friendly concessions across the farm
* Weddings, private events, school visits, and seasonal celebrations
No two days are the same, and creativity, teamwork, and adaptability are essential.
✅ What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
* Background in high-volume, multi-outlet kitchens
* Strong experience in wedding and event catering
* Passion for fresh, seasonal, and sustainable food
* Confident supporting and developing junior team members
* Good financial awareness, including stock control and supplier liaison
* Highly organised, calm under pressure, and detail-focused
* Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Job Description
* Supporting the Head Chefin delivering the culinary vision across the Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events & Hospitality spaces
* Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times
* Managing daily kitchen operations, including food prep, stock rotation, allergen control, and assisting with supplier coordination
* Working closely with front-of-house and events teamsto ensure smooth service for school visits, weddings, seasonal events, and private functions
* Maintaining consistency and efficiencyacross a logistically varied site, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
* Upholding food safety and hygiene standards, including compliance with HACCP procedures
* Contributing to menu development, bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration to the table
* Driving continuous improvement, offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations
Qualifications
* Proven experience as aSous CheforSenior Chef de Partyin ahigh-volume, quality-focused environment
* A strong background inwedding and event catering—you know how to deliver under pressure and support seamless execution
* A track record ofsupporting, training, and motivating kitchen teamsto maintain consistently high standards
* Financial awareness, with experience in food cost control, GP targets, stock management, and supplier coordination
* Excellentcoaching and delegation skills—you lead by example and support the Head Chef in developing the team
* Highlyorganised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, especially during peak service
* Anempathetic and effective communicatorwith a collaborative, solution-focused mindset
* Strongmenu execution, planning, and problem-solvingabilities
* Able toworkweekends and evenings as required by the operation
