Social, Emotional and Mental Health Support \n\nAre you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs? \n\nIf so… \n\nA really rewarding position has become available for a Social, Emotional and Mental Health support worker to work in a school in Slough. This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children.\n\nThese students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders.
These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow.\n\nAs a mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.\n\nYour day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students. You will also help run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and exciting place. Behavioural management may also be required.\n\nThe role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs.
This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists and counsellors.\n\nExperience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art or drama will also be at an advantage.
