Role Overview
The Herefordshire Community Wellbeing Directorate is a welcoming and supportive place to work. We are seeking enthusiastic, self‑motivated, professionally confident Social Workers who enjoy fast paced work and who have experience of working with adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs older adults.
Work includes a wide variety of adult social work: Care Act Assessments and support planning, Strength Based approach, CHC and s117 work, Section 42 Enquiries, Mental Capacity Assessments and Community DoLS. You will receive regular supervision and opportunities for your own professional growth and development, including potential for exploring specialist practice.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct social work services to adults with disabilities and mental health needs.
* Conduct Care Act Assessments, person‑centred planning and review.
* Carry out CHC, s117, Section 42 Enquiries and Mental Capacity Assessments.
* Manage Community DoLS privileges and conduct Community Capacity Assessments.
* Work in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and support independence.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
* Provide safeguarding enquiry support and post‑qualifying training oversight.
Qualifications
* Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
* Hold a Degree, Diploma, C.S.S., or C.Q.S.W in Social Work practice.
* Knowledge of current legislation and guidance relevant to adult social care.
* Experience with person‑centred, strengths‑based, outcome‑focused assessment, care management and review.
* Capability to undertake Safeguarding Enquiries as per training and post‑qualifying experience.
* Qualification or potential to undertake courses in Practice Education, Best Interest Assessor, and/or Approved Mental Health Professional.
* Experience working in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and support independence.
