Shaw Healthcare is recruiting for a Clinical Deputy Manager at our Ty Cwm Care service based in Carmarthen, West Wales.
Ty Cwm is a 20-bedded purpose-built nursing home for people with physical disabilities and complex health care conditions, located just outside Carmarthen in Johnstown. The service features bedrooms on two floors accessed by a large lift, communal lounges, hydro bubble baths, a sensory & activities room, and physiotherapy facilities.
You will report to the Registered Manager, playing a key role in the onsite clinical coordination of the service.
You will support the manager in leading and supervising a large staff team to deliver high standards of care. This role is central to maintaining and developing our care principles, which focus on 'wellness, happiness, and kindness'. You will work with the local community, GPs, and professionals to provide care that enables residents to lead fulfilling lives.
Salary: £22.57 per hour
Hours: 36 hours per week (average of 12.5 hours per week on the floor as a nurse)

Main Responsibilities
* Assist the Service Manager in leading staff to deliver high-quality care within a safe environment.
* Coordinate and lead the nursing team to provide person-centred care that promotes dignity, privacy, safety, independence, and equality & diversity.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
* Manage the smooth operation of nursing units and liaise with external health professionals.
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision within the service.
* Take full accountability for infection control implementation and audits throughout the service.
Leadership
* Be a visible, approachable role model for all staff.
* Maintain standards of nursing and care in line with Shaw healthcare's vision and policies.
* Manage admissions and discharges as per the contract and liaise with health professionals.
* Support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
* Conduct regular reviews during probation and ensure staff are supervised and appraised effectively.
* Mentor staff to succeed and ensure complaints and suggestions are addressed promptly.
* Support culture change and employee engagement initiatives.
* In the absence of the Service Manager, provide leadership and escalate issues appropriately.
The Ideal Candidate
* Nurse qualified with a valid NMC Pin.
* Experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse.
* Experience supporting service users with physical disabilities.
* Strong knowledge of person-centred care.
* Ability to assess needs and develop care plans that enhance residents' lives.
* Commitment to providing high standards of care and promoting resident wellbeing.
