We’re supporting a well-established, specialist business in the search for a commercially focused Business Development Director to lead growth across the Pharma and Healthcare sectors in the UK, Europe and North America.
This is a senior role with real visibility and influence — blending hands-on business development with strategic direction and team leadership. You’ll manage and mentor a small commercial team (two direct reports), while also maintaining and developing key accounts and strategic partnerships across global markets.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll need a strong track record in technical sales and commercial leadership within pharma, with experience in excipients and APIs being essential. This isn’t just about driving numbers — it’s about spotting opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and working closely with internal technical and operational teams to deliver real value.
There’s plenty of scope to shape the commercial strategy, contribute to cross-functional projects, and bring ideas to the table. The team are bright, engaged and experienced — they just need someone who can lead, support and elevate them.
This role would suit someone who:

2. Is confident working with technical products and scientific stakeholders

5. Flexible, field-based working is available, alongside office time for collaboration and planning. Occasional international travel will be part of the role.
