Job description:
We are looking to recruit a Service Technician - Repairs to work as part of the local team based in Birmingham, supporting customer communications and assisting the management team. The technician will provide front-of-house customer contact within the Birmingham Housing business unit, ensuring our equipment operates safely and reliably. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Respond to calls or repairs within the contractual time frame.
2. Support and cooperate with colleagues throughout the company in a positive, helpful, and respectful manner.
3. Fully comply with the company's field objectives and reporting systems.
4. Participate in the continuous development of the company's quality system.
5. Maintain and service lifting equipment, including lifts, platform units, and hoists.
6. Complete work in real-time within Field Link.
7. Perform other field engineering duties as required.
8. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
9. Work in accordance with established occupational health and safety policies to ensure compliance with UK legal requirements and Schindler safety standards.
10. Contribute to the company's safety objectives by maintaining and monitoring safety systems and implementing necessary changes.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience in lift servicing, maintenance, or repairs preferred.
2. Qualified to NVQ level 3 or higher in lift maintenance.
3. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
4. Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication skills at various levels (clients, service leaders, inspectors).
6. Customer-focused, committed to providing high-quality service.
7. Team player, supportive of colleagues, and willing to assist.
8. Proactive with good workload prioritization skills.
9. Reliable in delivering commitments.
10. Effective time management and forward planning skills.
11. Holds a full UK driving license.
