Role - Production Scheduler The purpose of the role is to pro-actively manage the scheduling and resourcing of project plans for TSP's manufacturing facility and associated management teams. Doing so by using engineering knowledge and experience to logically and systematically plan operations to meet the overall project schedule, through the development and definition of project activities and ensure production throughput is maintained. Liaising directly with the key project stakeholders you will monitor feedback and report on the network schedules to both internal and external customers. Key Accountabilities Translation of the project needs into detailed manufacturing schedules including resource and budget. Ensure workload does not exceed available capacity whilst ensuring we meet our customer commitments. Responsible for providing a schedule in line with the project schedule, key milestone dates and look-ahead aspirations. Provide key support and guidance to the project and production managers through regular engagement and a visible presence on the floor, as the project moves through all phases including engineering, supply chain, manufacture, assembly and testing/commissioning. Be informed and able to validate, advise & challenge progress & completion forecasts, identifying schedule risk and required enablers. Monitoring manufacturing performance and throughput and reporting to various internal stakeholders. Ability to carry out on the ground visits to evaluate customer requirements in more detail and understand project progress. Qualifications /Experience Required / Person Attributes Engineering Degree or Equivalent Practical Mechanical Engineering experience is desirable. NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Machining Discipline is Desirable Skills & Experience: Operations background with demonstrable experience and proven success in work scheduling within a manufacturing environment. Able to lead and support other team members and monitor own and team progress against planned delivery and quality targets and to contribute to continuous improvement of the planning function Ability to carry out on the ground visits to evaluate customer requirements in more detail and understand project progress. Understanding of Planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS - Product Breakdown Structure) Advanced IT skills Ability to motivate self and others to identify and deliver tasks within acceptable time frames A working knowledge of project management principles, tools and techniques. An appreciation of project management planning, estimating, risk identification, management and mitigation processes and their application across multi-disciplined teams. Experience in a Mechanical Engineering role or a similar technical role. Logical, analytical and structured approach to problem solving Excellent communication skills with proven stakeholder relationship management background The ideal candidate will have good practical skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in a Manufacturing Planning/Production Scheduling role is desirable whilst being able to underpin this with a good mechanical engineering knowledge and practice from within a Manufacturing Environment.
