Position Summary
The essential functions of the job for the LPN, which may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of Viva Senior Living, include:
* Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state, and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
* Must possess a valid LPN license issued by the State School of Nursing.
* Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
* Work well with peers in a congenial environment, maintain compassion and dignity for residents, and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
* Be available for call back during emergencies (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, staffing shortages).
* Follow Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and employment terms as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
* Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
* Maintain high standards in caring for residents and their families.
* Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
The Wellness Nurse provides care, treatment, medication administration, and monitors residents’ conditions, reporting according to care plans, laws, and policies. Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing care in the absence of senior staff.
* Providing care based on plans of care.
* Assisting with medication administration following the Five Rights.
* Reordering and receiving medications.
* Providing personal care and ADL assistance.
* Supervising care staff.
* Maintaining shift reports.
* Providing emergency assistance and follow-up.
* Transcribing physician orders.
* Maintaining case management documentation.
Requirements
Annual health requirements:
* Negative TB skin test verification annually.
* Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, with medical or religious exemptions as applicable.
Physical and sensory requirements:
* Ability to move intermittently and handle physical tasks (lifting minimum 25 pounds).
* Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress.
* Good vision and hearing or appropriate prosthetics.
* Meet general health requirements, including medical and physical exams.
* Ability to relate to and work with residents, including assisting in emergencies.
Salary
$30 per hour
