The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Computing Lecturer to join a dynamic and innovative educational institution. As a Computing Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students across a range of computing-related courses. You will work closely with other members of the academic team to design and develop course content, assessments, and learning materials that engage and challenge students.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the college's Digital curriculum, helping to ensure that it remains up-to-date and relevant to the needs of the industry. You will work closely with local employers and other stakeholders to identify emerging trends and technologies, and to ensure that your teaching reflects these developments.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a degree in computer science or a related field, as well as a recognised teaching qualification. You will have experience of teaching IT and computer science to students of all levels, and will be able to demonstrate a passion for your subject and a commitment to student success. You will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:
Teaching on a variety of L3 programs including Digital T levels and BTEC L3 IT
Engaging with local schools as part of the recruitment strategy
Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities
Work with key employers to co-design the curriculum
Maintain high quality records related to student assessment, coursework and progress
What We Are Looking For:
A highly enthusiastic and motivated computer science lecturer
Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification
Recent industry experience is desirable
PGCE qualification or the willingness to work towards one
Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully
Display initiative, be positive and enthusiastic
Demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity, customer service and quality assurance
Possess excellent communication skills
Be a team player
Demonstrate a commitment to the process of continuous review and improvement
Ability to develop and promote relevant curriculum effectively
Suitability to work with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults
Ability to use ILT in classroom delivery including interactive whiteboard technology
