Job Introduction Are you a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives? Join our Children’s Community Health Team at HCRG Care Group, where you’ll provide high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children, empowering them and their families to achieve their full potential. As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, supporting children with a range of developmental and performance challenges. You’ll work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to enable self-management, independence, and well-being in children’s daily lives. Base: You will be based at one of our Surrey-wide office hubs, with the flexibility of hybrid working to support your professional and personal needs. At HCRG Care Group, we are proud to be a flexible-first employer.Our agile working approach allows our teams to thrive in a supportive and adaptable environment while delivering high-quality care Main Responsibilities Carrying out high-quality ADOS assessments, as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for children and young people Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs. Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers. Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings. Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care. Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances. Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings. Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals The Ideal Candidate Essential Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Evidence of Post graduate training/or equivalent experience relevant to speciality such as: Child Development o Specialist courses/ study on conditions that affect child development, autistic spectrum disorder, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions Demonstrable post registration experience of working with children in a similar area of paediatric practice. Experience of using a range of assessments and treatment methods Desirable Member of BAOT Membership of Special Interest Group Clinical Educators qualification Working in a community setting delivering children’s Occupational Therapy services.
