Job Opportunity: Support Accountant
We are recruiting for a Support Accountant to join our client in Ballymena, working 37.5 hours per week.
Rate of pay £24.45 per hour.
Immediate start
8 months initially.
We are seeking a Support Accountant to work closely with the Head Accountant in supporting financial planning, performance, and sustainability across the organisation. This role plays a key part in improving efficiency, supporting service development, and providing expert financial advice to senior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities (Summary)
1. Support the Head Accountant with financial planning, performance monitoring, and reporting
2. Produce and analyse the financial aspects of business cases and capital projects
3. Provide specialist financial advice to senior managers, clinicians, and directorates
4. Support efficiency, contingency, recovery, and modernisation plans
5. Assist with financial analysis for regional and local projects and commissioning requirements
6. Contribute to benchmarking, productivity, and value‑for‑money exercises
7. Represent Finance in service and budget agreement discussions and reviews
8. Provide training and high‑quality financial guidance to managers
9. Deputise for the Head Accountant when required
Essential Criteria
Qualifications / Registration
10. Full membership of a CCAB‑recognised professional accounting body or CIMA
Experience
11. Minimum 2 years’ relevant finance experience at supervisory level
Other Requirements
12. Full UK driving licence and access to a car
