Job Overview
Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and/or assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.
£14.05 per hour payrate alongside numerous Mitie benefits including Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers.
Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO and a key focus on customer service. Company funded SIA licence renewal. Fully supported by the NOC and provided with technology such as a body‑worn camera and incident reporting device. Delivering results that meet or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.

Main Duties
Operations
* Ensure compliance with all policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements per the Security Account Manager and UK law.
* Engage with National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management, using technology (body‑cams, mobile devices) for incident reporting.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within Assignment Instructions.
* Proactively review Assignment Instructions and suggest improvements.
* Wear a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision and be compliant with statutory legislation; obtain any additional required courses.
* Work in a systematic, methodical, orderly manner.
Training
* Complete all required competency training and continuous self‑development as directed.
* Use technology to achieve work objectives and develop job knowledge.
* Ensure licence renewal 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Report any Health & Safety hazards immediately.
* Remain alert to potential threats and take appropriate action.
* Initiate involvement of others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
* Document incidents promptly in a notebook for the Incident Report process.
* Maintain schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out as stipulated in Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
