Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Primary – Across All Key Stages)
Location: Derby
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Scale: £110 - £130 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
The Role
We are looking for a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across all key stages in a friendly and inclusive Derby primary school. This role will involve delivering pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence, supporting learning in-class, and providing targeted interventions where required. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a whole class, engaging pupils of different ages, and adapting to a variety of teaching styles and environments.
What We’re Looking For
* Recent HLTA or teaching experience in a UK primary school
* Ability to work across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
* Strong classroom management skills with a positive, engaging approach
* Flexibility to adapt to different year groups and subjects
* A solid understanding of the primary curriculum
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups
* Support learning through interventions and small group work
* Provide whole-class cover when required
* Manage pupil behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
* Liaise with teaching staff to ensure continuity and progression in learning
