Overview
We are a fast‑growing, award‑winning consultancy looking for an Assistant Transport Planner to join our Oxford team. This role is suited to someone with around 18 months of experience in transport planning who wants to develop technical skills and gain project exposure in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the delivery of small to medium transport planning projects, supporting senior team members with coordination and programme management.
* Prepare and contribute to transport assessments, transport statements, travel plans, access appraisals, and technical notes.
* Support site visits and provide input for scheme development.
* Use tools such as AutoCAD, TRICS, Junctions (ARCADY/PICADY) and transport modelling software.
* Attend project team, client and Local Highway Authority meetings alongside senior colleagues.
* Prepare materials for public consultations.
* Build relationships with architects, planners and highways officers.
* Assist with inputs to fee proposals and project documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
* Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Approximately 18 months of experience within transport planning.
* Basic understanding of relevant guidance and planning policy.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work within a team and manage own workload.
* Experience with AutoCAD, TRICS, Junctions (ARCADY/PICADY) or similar tools.
