We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of multidiscipline engineers delivering innovative and value-adding engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects in the Western Region of Scotland.
The role is responsible for managing project engineering from initial development and design, through to delivery, commissioning and hand over to operations.
Responsibilities
* Manage engineering risks as a core part of project decision-making, ensuring built assets meet the needs of Operational users and align with the overall Network strategy.
* Ensure appropriate engineering resources are in place to support a £500m+ portfolio of projects, including staffing, recruitment, and procurement of external consultants.
* Lead the development and performance of a talented engineering team, supporting individual growth and expanding the team through strategic recruitment.
* Champion sound engineering practices and drive innovation in design to meet technical requirements, deliver high-quality outcomes, and ensure value for money.
* Promote and oversee safety in design across the project portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislation and effective execution of CDM Principal Designer and Designer responsibilities.
Requirements
* A qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally Chartered Engineer status, with extensive experience in similar environments.
* Strong technical and commercial understanding of the Electrical Transmission sector or comparable industries.
* Proven experience in leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering complex projects successfully.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and influence stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines.
* A diligent and analytical approach, with strengths in prioritisation, technical problem-solving, solution assessment, and risk mitigation.
